Message from the Director

We are so excited to welcome you to HALB's Lev Chana Early Childhood Center. Our goal is to envelope your child in a world of Yiddishkeit, learning, and creative play in a nurturing and exciting environment. Our specialty programs feature music, library, art, computers and gym. We help the children develop appropriate early childhood skills in academics, socialization and fine and gross motor coordination.

A critical part of our curriculum is the development of language. Every recent study in education has shown that children need a strong language base on which to develop their other skills. A good reader cannot comprehend what he doesn't understand. We encourage children not only to speak, but to use language in different ways. This is accomplished by teacher directed activities, puppets, storytelling and dramatic play. Any activity that goes on in the classroom has language as its base. We immerse the children in Hebrew language as well. It is integrated into the entire day and in this way, enhances the educational experience. Love of Torah, mitzvot, Medinat Yisrael and Am Yisrael are the building blocks we will cement with your children.

Building a child's self esteem is a primary goal. We do this by providing a nurturing and stimulating environment in which a child is free to take risks and not be afraid to discover things on his or her own. Our Morot are known for their warmth, creativity and acceptance of each child at his or her own level. They comprise the finest and experienced staff who are well trained in the most successful techniques to promote lifelong learning. The early years of life are when children develop their sense of identity. It is a time when parents are as eager as the children to learn and experience new things. This is the ideal time to lay a foundation of Jewish values. Toward that end, it is so important that we have a partnership between parents and school. We can’t wait to have you join us for many exciting programs as we learn and grow during this exciting time. As little as our preschoolers are, they always have something to teach and inspire us. We are proud of our children, our staff, and our parent body!
