HALB regards the time on the school bus as an extension of the school day. We consider Derech Eretz  and the safety of the students on the bus, to be of the utmost importance.
We ask the parents to speak with each child and teach him/her to:
  • Wait quietly for his/her bus on the corner without disturbing a neighbor or damaging any property.
  • Respect the authority of the bus driver.
  • Properly enter and leave the bus.
  • Remain seated until the bus stop is reached.
  • Keep hands, head and arms inside the bus.

Pupils disobeying the safety rules will receive a written “bus misconduct” report from the bus driver and may be legally barred from receiving transportation by the respective school districts. Students may also receive negative consequences from the school.

No district student will be allowed on any bus other than his/her assigned bus. If there is an emergency, please make arrangements to have your child get off his/her assigned bus at another official stop. Please send your child with a note stating these details. Please be advised that the districts do not allow transportation for after-school activities. It is the responsibility of the parent to arrange for appropriate carpool transportation.

DIRECTIONS TO THE LEV CHANA EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER


1. From Queens, Manhattan (via Van Wyck Expressway)
Van Wyck Expressway towards Kennedy Airport.  Immediately after the exit for Kennedy Airport take Rt. 878 East  (Nassau Expressway).  Stay on Nassau Expressway (past sign that says Highway ends) - which becomes Rockaway Blvd. East.  Take Rockaway Blvd. for 3 1/2 miles (past Peninsula Blvd.) to West Broadway (Dunkin Donuts on right).  Left on West Broadway for 2 miles.  Cross railroad tracks and turn right immediately after Burger King onto Veterans Plaza.  Cross Broadway onto Piermont Avenue.  Go to second stop sign on Piermont Avenue, make a left onto Meadowview Avenue, and make an immediate right into our campus.

2. From Brooklyn, Staten Island, etc. (via Belt Parkway)
Belt Parkway East onto Nassau Expressway (Rt. 878) East - follow directions above from Nassau Expressway.

3. From Five Towns, Far Rockaway
Take Broadway into Hewlett.  Make a right turn at Piermont Avenue (first right after the Northfork Bank and Burger King), go to second stop sign on Piermont Avenue, make a left onto Meadowview Avenue, and make an immediate right into our campus.

4. From Eastern Long Island, Nassau & Suffolk County
Take Southern State Parkway to Central Avenue South, which changes into Mill Road after you cross Sunrise Highway.  Follow Mill Road to the end (shortly after Peninsula Blvd.) and make a left onto West Broadway.  Cross railroad tracks and turn right immediately after Burger King onto Veterans Plaza.  Cross Broadway onto Piermont Avenue.  Go to second stop sign on Piermont Avenue, make a left onto Meadowview Avenue, and make an immediate right into our campus.
