The SKA College Guidance Department

This is a very exciting time in your family's life. Your daughters have worked so hard, made life-long friendships, and have made a real difference in the lives of so many. With graduation looming and post-high school educational decisions yet to be made, the process can sometimes seem a little daunting. We're here to smooth the road for you. The SKA College Guidance Department is committed to assisting the girls in assessing and understanding their aptitudes, interests and educational needs. The counselors are here to listen and provide students and their families with information so they may make suitable educational decisions for the future.

The College Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Susan Sachs, is available during the school day to answer your questions. Students are encouraged to stop in or schedule an appointment to see them. Parents can speak to Mrs. Sachs by calling 374-7195, ext. 127. Mrs. Sachs is in the office through period 8.

IMPORTANT COLLEGE INFORMATION
When registering for the SATs, you will be asked for the following information:

1. High School College Entrance Examination Board Code (CEEB) (question # 5). The SKA CEEB code is: 3323622:

2. The SKA Sunday code for SKA (question # 10): 33495
*SKA is a test center for the March and June tests only.
This tells ETS (Educational Testing Service) that you want to take the test on Sunday and at SKA. If you do not live locally and want to take the test closer to home, put in the code 01000 for this question. That tells ETS that you want to take the test on Sunday but that they should place you in a test center closer to your home. If you want to take the test at another Sunday test center, you must put in their code:

SchoolTest Center Code
DRS (a test center in Oct. & May) 33033
HAFTR (a test center in Oct., Nov., Mar., May, Jun.)33302

* If you are taking the SAT for the first time, you MUST get a letter from the College Guidance Office explaining that you cannot take the SAT on Shabbos. For your first test only, you CANNOT register on-line. You must MAIL in your registration form, with this letter, as well as your check. After this time, you may register on-line.

3. For question #9 on the registration form: Mark in the oval next to the month you are taking the exam. Although that date is a Shabbos, what you filled in for question #10 indicates to ETS that you are taking the test on Sunday.
