The Child Study Team is coordinated by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services. It includes a  psychologist, social worker, resource room coordinator, speech and language pathologist, and a member of the administration. When a child is referred by either a teacher or a parent, his/her case is carefully reviewed with teachers, parents and our team of specialists. HALB believes in having open communication with parents regarding the needs of their children. Appropriate referrals are made to the school districts or outside mental health professionals for testing and services. District personnel work in our buildings together with classroom teachers and HALB’s own resource room staff. On each campus, local school districts also provide occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech and language therapy to qualifying students. Individualized Education Programs are created to meet the needs of each child in both General Studies and Limudei Kodesh. HALB’s “Guidelines for Eligibility for Resource Room Services: Accommodations and Modifications” is available upon request.
