The Davis Renov Stahler Yeshiva High School for Boys strives for academic excellence in both Judaic and General Studies in a warm and nurturing environment for faculty and students.
Our Judaic Studies program seeks to inculcate our students with a commitment to religious growth. Torah study is geared toward instilling in our students a love of learning, establishing strong rabbi – student relationships, and teaching an approach to life within a torah framework. Strong emphasis is placed on teaching the skills that enable our students to independently comprehend and analyze texts and their commentaries. The religious atmosphere within the school seeks to promote a deep appreciation for study, a devotion to community service, love of fellow man and a love for the State of Israel.
Our College preparatory program is designed to provide our students with a comprehensive academic program, emphasizing the development of critical thinking and research skills both written and oral. Secular studies courses and requirements conform to the standards of the Board of Regents; with Regents examinations administered at the conclusion of course requirements. Preparing our students academically for admission to the colleges of their choice is a primary goal.
Extra-curricular activities are crucial for fostering untapped talents and creativity that help students shine outside the classroom. Activities are student centered and student driven, and help shape a well-rounded student.
DRS is a place where the values and morality of Torah form the fabric of our daily lives. At the foundation is Emet: truth, honesty and integrity. We encourage and expect our students to approach school life, activities and tasks with a sense of personal responsibility, honor and integrity, as well as a commitment to dealing truthfully and sensitively with all members of our school family.
At the conclusion of our four-year program, students will earn a DRS Diploma and a New York State Regents Diploma.
