 Lilmod Ule’lamed: Lilmod Ule'lamed gives mothers and women in the community an opportunity to learn Torah at SKA during school hours by attending shiurim given by SKA teachers and rebbeim. The shiurim are given every Tuesday mid-day and follow a three or four week cycle. Topics and texts which have been explored include teshuva, tehilim, the Maharal, Chovot haLevavot, topics in Chumash etc. Please call the school or read SKAppenings for the time and topic of this week’s class. Community Wide Lecture Series for Women: The SKA Community-wide Lecture Series has brought world renowned speakers to the Five Towns enabling women in the community to join together for an evening of Torah, hitorerut and inspiration. Rebbetzin Meisels, The Bobover Rebbe’s zt”l daughter, Judge Butler and Rabbi Yissochar Frand are some of the personalities who have been presented in the past. The response from the community has been overwhelming and often there is standing room only. There will be five lectures in 2006-2007. Please join is for these wonderful evenings. Alumnae Shiurim: We are so proud that our alumnae return to SKA every Friday morning to learn with Rabbi Eisenbach, a beloved rebbe at SKA. His shiurim often cover philosophical issues which touch our students’ lives and enable our young women to evaluate the world through the lens of Torah. The shiurim, which take place in our library, are held at 10:00 AM and friends of alumnae are welcome as well. Elicious Learning: Throughout the summer, SKA students and alumnae gather once a week at the Elicious Ice Cream Parlor to learn Torah. SKA faculty lead the students in Torah learning which adds inspiration and depth to the summer vacation.
