The Jerusalem Science Contest is an international competition for Jewish high school students interested in learning a cutting edge Science topic and its Judaic relevance. For many, many years, DRS has competed and placed nationally.
Here's how it works: participants study selected readings and video lectures, and compete through a series of 8 exams and a final project, with the opportunity to win prize money, a college scholarship, or even a trip to Israel! This past year, we had students who finished 1st-4th places nationally, with trips to Israel and cash prizes!
Competing students have enjoyed the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, understanding, and application of a cutting edge scientific topic. Last year's topic was Molecular Biology; this year’s topic will be Neuroscience, which is one of the most dynamic Science topics of our time, currently revolutionizing the fields of medicine, technology, and more!

Visit the contest's website at to sign-up, register (you must pay the fee) and/or see more information.  Interested students should sign-up immediately, as the first exam is in September and the related text must be purchased by DRS in advance. Please note: The text will be Fundamentals of Human Neuropsychology 6th edition by Bryan Kolb and Ian Wishlaw.

Once you sign up, please notify us, so that we can purchase the textbook for you.

Registration is free to take the first exam; full registration for the contest is $90 and must be submitted by October 19. As you'll see on the website, the first video lecture is live in early September.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Dr. Broder at so that we can purchase the textbook for you. If you have questions about the program, please contact with any questions.
